Low Vision Clinic

Maximise your quality of life with our low vision clinic

The primary goal of our low vision clinic is to help you maximise your remaining vision, giving you the quality of life you deserve. We have extensive experience in working with people who have reduced vision, and can help you increase your independence, confidence and self-esteem.

Your low vision assessment with us is comprehensive, beginning with questions regarding your lifestyle, what you’d like to achieve and how you’d like to improve your quality of life.

After a thorough discussion and examination, we can then provide you with the technology you need to help you live a fuller and happier life.

Our visual aids could help you:

Read small print on medicine bottles, newspapers, letters and much more

Thread a needle

Read signs and bus numbers

Improve your mobility around the home

Watch television

Can you provide me with specialist equipment to aid my sight?

Yes. We can provide you with a wide variety of equipment to help you and will do our best to find the most useful solutions for your lifestyle. Our main aim is to help you as much as we can.

I’m having a separate treatment from my doctor. So should I wait before seeing you?

If you’re having problems with your vision or low vision aids, visit us ASAP, no matter what other medical treatment you’re receiving.

Will my low vision aids be covered by my medical insurance?

Check with your insurance company. If you are referred to us by your ophthalmologist, you may be able to have your assessment or aids covered by your insurance plan.

Will you be able to visit my home for a low vision assessment?

While we prefer to conduct low vision assessments at our practice, they can also be undertaken in the comfort of your home. For more information on our home visits, please visit the home visits page.
